The scheme has been changed to name the Prime Minister's Public Health Campaign. This scheme will provide cashless health services to the beneficiaries. This will reduce the expenses incurred for hospitalization, which makes people poorer. This will reduce the financial risk generated during severe health problems. The eligible people can avail the benefits of government and listed private hospitals.
VK Paul, a member of the Chief Shilpi Policy Commission of the scheme, said, "The Prime Minister will launch this scheme on September 23 but it will be effectively effective from the birth anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay on September 25.
